What do you need to hear today?
Maybe you need something to help you blow the roof off the mutha. Or maybe you need to settle in for a few minutes with a cup of tea for a relaxing moment of simplicity.
Try this one: in a world of abundant possibility, freedom is making daring, high quality commitments. How willing are you to take the emotional risk of commitment on a scale of 1 to 10? How committed are you to your project on a scale of 1 to 10?
Commit harder. Commit deeper. Stretch your commitment by one. If you’re at a 6, what’s a 7?
Today, whether you need to blow the roof off the muther, or sip a cup o’ tea, invest in the quality of your project.
That’s Step 1. Now, for Step 2.
Today, take incremental action. Success is a tiny step. Big wins may look like giant leaps but they are actually a zillion tiny steps. Take small action today.
Don’t go big—go small, every day.
What little bitty thing are you doing today?
Step 3: Focus.
The best players mostly focus on the present moment. Keep your head in the game, focus on today, commit courageously to small action now.
To recap: commit, take small action, focus on the present.
Tip: The leap you may need is a leap of faith that small, quality actions every day will yield results, and that focussing on the now makes winners.
Permission: To whine and bitch and moan and groan, if that’s what gets your head the game.
Action: Take a small high quality action today that demonstrates your commitment.
Stretch: Physically stand up and do it the instant you finish reading this email.
Bottomline: Commit to a small action today.
