Your imagination of your future is bold and beautiful and helps propel you forward with enthusiasm and desire. (Or is it backhanded despair?)
Yet, however lovely that future you appears, she may not come to greet you.
As time unfolds your perfect vision cedes to a fuller, more grounded reality. Are you perfect today? Do you think you will be perfect tomorrow?
The really real you will survive into the future.
What if you knew the future you wouldn’t evolve into that perfect vision, but would very much resemble the you of today? Would that be a bummer? What if it’s not a bummer, but a graceful hug by reality, re-focusing your attention to today.
Reality, then, tells you: as best you can, live the ideal now, today, for tomorrow will be today too.
