Self-care is an awesome, newly created phrase. Healthy choices for rest, kindness, and release make you stronger, more resilient, more capable. From a non-existent concept fairly recently, it has become an obvious, no-brainer for many people.
Oh, but there’s more.
Let’s start here: What culture would you like us all to live in? How equitable? How harmonious? How creative? How healing? How challenging? How courageous?
If ever there were a place you have control or influence, it is within you. Granted, it can be a hazy mess inside. Same as outside.
Self-care is part of your self-culture.
How much do you respect and honor your inner strengths? When was the last time? How much do you kindly challenge your significant faults?
The culture we see out in the world, comes from within us, and vice versa. One place we can make a consistent effort to change the culture is inside.
If you want the world to be fair and courageous, practice that toward yourself. Self-fair, self-courageous.
We have countless opportunities to try to make a difference in our self-culture. Not easy, but important.
