How to Stop Over Thinking: Are You Addicted to Reassurance?

Are you addicted to reassurance?

I don’t believe reassurance is futile. It’s a kind of encouragement, or moral support. Those are important ingredients.

There are, however, many other ingredients.

You can’t build a castle out of reassurance. It’s only a minor element of the overall design and construction. Reassurance are the rugs you place in the main hall. Or the pebbles that make the walkway through the flower garden. But, you need bricks and mortar. Iron and wood. Engineering and aesthetics. A team of builders. Etc.

So, take some reassurance, and add a whole lotta other stuff.

I love encouragement. And I believe moral support is powerful.

But, nobody will ever give you enough reassurance to build your castle — it simply is the wrong ingredient for that.

So, what do you need?

I will bang this drum all day: 1) you need an authentically inspiring vision, 2) you need a process you stick to consistently, 3) you need a team and support and community, 4) you need to act from authenticity, 5) you need courage to stretch yourself, 6) you need persistence and commitments, and 7) you need to integrate it all into your life.

(That’s a lot, to be continued…)
