On the one hand, some projects take great care, and thought and polish. The perfectionist’s dream. On the other, a project sometimes just has to be put out in the world. Maybe not even a project–maybe an email.
Most work happens somewhere between the extremes of Do Do Go Go Go and Thoughtful, Careful Polish. And sometimes the polish comes with repetitions of Go Go Go Ship Boom it’s-out-there-and-can’t-be-taken-back.
But what a useful tool to bring to your work, and your team, to know that some emails need careful review and editing before sending, and some new initiatives are best served up half formed in order to move them forward.
You’d think a perfectionist’s nightmare might to ship ship ship prematurely, but not necessarily if they know some of their work can be worked thoroughly before released.
Your lunch, in fact, might need little thought and a quick banana sometimes, or lots of planning and passion for a special meal with a loved one.
